In 1988 she moved to London where she currently resides with her two cats and a flock of crows. She has had various personal and group exhibitions both in South Florida and London. She was also presented with an Award of Excellence for her entry in The National Portrait Awards 2004 Contest. Inspired by her exploration of human nature and the photographic works of Debbie Flemming Caffrey and Sylvia Plachy, her photos are often characterised by strong lighting and deep shadows. Her fascination with Russian language and culture led her to take numerous excursions to the former Soviet Union. In April 2004 she undertook a photographic project for Aid to Russia and the Republics in the far east of Vladivostok and Khabaraovsk. The focus was on street people, orphans, children with disabilities and ex-convicts. These photos were on exhibition in The Refectoryš at Southwark Cathedral from July to September 2004. Previous projects have ranged from photographing communities at the end of all of London's tube lines, to commercial work including a private game reserve in South Africa and fashion. She is a freelance, fine art photographer who works in independent projects. |
